High Quality Accommodation

Pangea Support Services has its own Housing Support Manager who provides and co-ordinates all accommodation services including securing, developing, repairs and maintenance on all our properties.

We always have access to accommodation 24 hrs a day 365 days per year. The interests of young people are paramount in developing all aspects of our service. To this effect our standards of accommodation are high and designed to create an environment that allows young people to feel at ease and develop respect for both their accommodation and possessions. Where applicable, our accommodation complies with HMO regulations relating to 5 or more single dwellings. All our properties include Approved Gas and Electrical Safety certificates and appropriate Insurance. Another unique feature of Pangea Support Services is our own in-house maintenance team that can respond to emergencies 24 hrs 7 days a week. A comprehensive list of the “Health and Safety” features relating to our accommodation is identified in our welcome pack.

All placements will be provided within accommodation that has been inspected and approved by the local council. Each young person will be provided with a room that meets Pangea’s objectives of supporting young people. The accommodation will also comply with all relevant Housing Acts and other regulations. All rooms are furnished to a high standard and include, bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, cabinets, curtains and TV. Pots/pans, cutlery, crockery and bedding are also provided. Induction includes instructions on how to use equipment and on health and safety matters. Details of local amenities, resources, services and public transport are provided. An Occupancy Agreement must be signed. The young person may be expected to sign a register to confirm that he/she is a resident at the unit. Monthly house meetings will be held to resolve any difficulties or problems that may arise. At the initial care plan meeting, we will agree with social workers what areas of support should be undertaken by us and this is incorporated into a support plan. This is used for ongoing monitoring and is also part of the review meeting. Staff will attend planning and review meetings Keywork/support sessions are provided weekly Staff are available to speak to social workers/young people throughout the day. Sleep-in cover is provided dependent upon need and the client group.
