All placements will be provided within accommodation that has been inspected and approved by the local council. Each young person will be provided with a room that meets Pangea’s objectives of supporting young people. The accommodation will also comply with all relevant Housing Acts and other regulations. All rooms are furnished to a high standard and include, bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, cabinets, curtains and TV. Pots/pans, cutlery, crockery and bedding are also provided.
We and social services will assess new placements jointly. If possible, a support plan will be agreed with the young person with identifiable goals within the first week of placement. We will allocate a key-worker as soon as possible.
All residents will be supplied with a starter pack including:
- Toiletries, bedding and welcome letter.
- House inventory/Fire plan/Health & Safety.
- Local information such as, Tube/Bus maps, Local chemist, doctors, library, religious house and map of London.
Interpreting services will be used to explain house rules and procedures, including the procedures for making complaints, and health and safety matters.
